HOCKEY: Stalemate for Chiltern Ladies

Chiltern Ladies were held to a 0-0 draw at Tring IIs in their Five Counties Women’s League Division Two clash at the weekend.

The visitors battled hard, but lady luck was against them as Donna Brown had two efforts go just wide.

In the second period, Chiltern continued to attack as short corner efforts from Emma Cook and Lorna Ayres were saved, while Cook also hit a post.

Player of the match for the visitors was Katie Street.

Meanwhile, in Division Three, the IIs suffered a 5-0 home defeat to top-of-the table Royston IIs.

The first half saw some excellent defending by the whole team with the forwards tracking back to assist.

Chiltern managed to release the pressure with some good work down the left wing by Fiona Delivett and Mandy Blackmore, which saw the latter go close.

After the break, Chiltern created a number of chances, including one that was cleared off the line via a post from Vicky Spencer, as Holly Steward named top player.

In Division Five, Chiltern IIIs were beaten 5-2 by Bedford Vs. From the opening whistle, Chiltern went on the offensive with Bethany Carlisle, Carly Grimmer and Vicky Spencer pushing forward.

Bedford fought back to take the lead, but Chiltern levelled with a fantastic strike from Carlisle.

The visitors were 2-1 in front at the break though, while in the second period, they added three more, before Chiltern grabbed a consolation through Holly Steward.
