King Keane rules the awards roost

Utility man emulates Luton legend David Preece by winning trophy for a second time

King Keith Keane emulated David Preece by becoming only the second Hatters star to win the Luton Town Supporters' Club Player Of The Season award twice.

The wholehearted utility man also picked up the Internet Player Of The Season gong as he once again took centre stage at the awards night at Vauxhall Recreation Club on Sunday night.

Four other Town stars also picked up trophies on the night, with Chris Martin winning Goal Of The Season for his strike against Scunthorpe United at Wembley, Jake Howells was named Young Player Of The Season, Asa Hall emerged as Players' Player Of The Season and on-loan defender Michael Spillane was selected as the Young Members Player Of The Season.

Keane, who was presented with his awards by former Luton keeper Jake Findlay and Luton Town Supporters' Club chairman Kevin Barrett, said: "It's great to be recognised, especially when you are just going out there to play a football game. It's nice to be appreciated.

"It's always nice to get a reward. It's a bad season, but nice to pick up a trophy.

"It's been a tough season for everyone and with Wembley we've been able to take our mind off the League and enjoy it.
