The ladies were the outstanding team with a winning performance as Revee Walcott-Nolan, making her senior debut, led the field home.

Claire McMahon (sixth), Rosie Keane (seventh), Christine Lathwell (11th), Charlotte Hardy (54th), Louise Bentham (62nd) and Rosie Canham (91st) provided valuable support to take the team title from Milton Keynes AC.

By contrast the Senior men had their worst performance in many years with leading runners John McDonnell and Daniel Woodgate targeting this weekend’s European Cross-Country trials at Liverpool. Other notable absentees with injuries meant the team finished last in the division.

Luton’s young athletes, however, performed better, as the U13 girls finished an excellent second, with Georgia Nunn leading the team in sixth, while there were strong runs from Elizabeth Bentham (eighth), Libby Jay (12th), Natasha Hayman (22nd), Hannah Soanes (23rd), Kirsty Lewis (39th) and Bethany Bangs (54th).

Other notable performances came from Harry Wells, eighth in the U17s and Luke King, who was sixth in the U15 boys races, gaining important points to keep Luton eighth overall in the league.
