LADIES FOOTBALL: FA Cup dreams over for AFC and Hatters

AFC Dunstable Ladies’ FA Women’s Cup run was ended on Sunday as Denham United beat them 5-1 in their third round qualifier.

A giant-killing was on the cards when AFC took the lead against their South East Combination League visitors thanks to another stunning Dan Carty free-kick. But their opponents hit back in style to make it through to the next round.

AFC are back in Women’s Eastern Region Division One South action this Sunday versus West Billericay, kick-off 2pm at Creasey Park.

Depleted Luton Town Ladies were dumped out of the FA Women’s Cup at the third qualifying round stage on penalties by lower league opposition KIKK United on Sunday.

After normal and extra-time had finished 2-2 as Rebecca Kane scored twice, KIKK won 3-1 on penalties.

Next up for the Hatters is an South East Combination trip to in-form QPR on November 17.

Meanwhile, in a real game of two halves Crawley Green Ladies lost 5-4 at Bedmond in the second round of the Bedfordshire & Hertfordshire County Girls & Women’s League Open-Age League Cup.
