LDSC finish third at National Club Finals

Luton and Dunstable Squash Club finished a creditable third in the National Club Finals at Hallamshire at the weekend.

On Saturday, LDSC took on red-hot favourites and last year’s runners up Colets.

Adam Auckland lost to Richie Fallows, while Daryl Selby, Adam Giles and Steve Davies all suffered defeats, although Adrian Waller saved a whitewash as he triumphed over Scott Handley.

In the third/fourth play-off against Nottingham, injuries and absentees depleted both sides as they were only able to field four players, as Luton came out on top 3-1.

Captain Davies said: “It’s been a terrific adventure to get this far and there is no shame in coming third in the country.

“I am so proud of all the team getting us this far and over the summer we will assess where we are and start to plan an assault again next year.”

Meanwhile, the LDSC O45s went down 3-0 to a very experienced Boston side in the Plate final.
