LDSC retain top spot with Biggleswade win

Luton & Dunstable Squash Club’s first team retained top spot in the Beds Premier League as they won 13-6 at Biggleswade.

The match had started badly for the visitors with a major upset as Marc Woolhead lost to Bruce St Leger 3-0. Things went from bad to worse then for LDSC as stalwart and usually reliable number five Steve Wells was beaten 3-1 by Marcus Gray.

The pressure was on strings two, three and four to win and, despite finding himself 10-0 down in the second game, captain Steve Davies came back to win 3-0 over Tim Kipling. Matt Mulara and Scot Adam then completed the victory with successive 3-0 victories.

The seconds suffered a hefty 18-3 defeat against Silsoe, while in the Herts Leage, LDSC lost 14-9 to Gosling.
