Light Blue Briggs readies for Varsity match

BUDDING doctor William Briggs is relishing the prospect of representing Cambridge University in the Nomura Varsity match against Oxford at Twickenham on Thursday, December 9, writes Mark Wood.

The 20-year-old prop, who is studying medicine at Magdalene College, got a taste of the action last year by playing in the U21 match.

But the former Ampthill player, who comes from Toddington, can’t wait to experience the real thing in front of a half-full Twickenham.

He said: “I’m a bit nervous is the best way to describe it and really excited. I didn’t expect to be involved this early at all.”
