Luton AC fight back for third

With several younger team members competing at other events, Luton AC could only manage third place in their second Southern Athletics League Division Two North match at Bedford.

There were some great performances, especially in the field as star thrower David Burrell was back to compete, alongside son Jamie, which gave the team a much needed boost.

For the women, the usual throwing combination of Suzanna Wise and Natalie Kimble was working well with a double victory in the hammer.

Wise won two of her four throws, with 34.88m in the A hammer and 19.71m in the B javelin. She also threw 33.40m in the A discus for second and 8.12m in the A shot for third.

Kimble won the B hammer with 20.06m, and was second in the B shot and discus with 7.43m and 18.64m.

The next match is at Stockwood Park on Saturday, June 15.
