Luton AC finish in top 30

Luton AC took a small number of teams to Berry Park, Mansfield, on Saturday to contest the 2012 Saucony National Cross-Country Relay Championships.

A four-man Senior team, running over 5km, got off to an unexpectedly good start with the consistent Daniel Woodgate coming home in 24th place in 16.11mins, with a field of over 150 teams in action.

Despite running slightly slower than expected, John McDonnell advanced the team into 12th place in 15.46mins.

Andrew McMulkin ran strongly on the next leg but dropped back into 25th place in 17.38mins before passing on to Veteran Stuart Still who, despite running nearly 100 miles a week in preparation for the forthcoming Luton Marathon, showed a good turn of speed to keep the team in the top 30 in 18.02mins.
