Luton runner Deed looks to qualify for Commonwealth Games marathon
Boxfit Triathlon Club runner Darren Deed is looking to complete Sunday’s Yorkshire Marathon in 2.17hrs or under to claim a place in England’s Commonwealth Games team in Scotland next year.
The Lutonian helps to coach Boxfit’s athletes and is in full training for the weekend’s race. This is only the 35-year-old’s second marathon, but he has been running since the age of 11 and has represented his country a number of times.
Deed said: “I like to think my chances are very good.”
