Medals galore for Scott

The Junior Dunstable ten-pin bowling team descended on Nottingham for the Youth Bowling National Championships.

Almost 200 teams took part with over 1,000 players involved in age groups from U8s to U18s.

Lorna Scott (Houghton Regis), who has won medals in every age group she has played in, produced the goods again, finishing second in the singles event and then won the doubles with her partner Megan Carden.

Scott completed her superb day with victory in the All Events too, where the scores from all three events are added up together.

Remy Bader from Slip End and Andrew Clark were also among the medals as they paired up to take second in the doubles. Clark also finished second in the singles, while Bader was third, but took home silver in the All Events category.

The Dunstable team of Kane Allardyce, Freddie Banham, Calvin Edwards, Bader and Clark only just missed out on the gold in the team event after being pipped by a couple of pins on the final day to finish in second place.

The Junior bowlers meet every Saturday morning at Dunstable’s Gobowling and play in a friendly league where all bowlers receive coaching.
