Merry likens champion Bakare to Olympian Ohuruogu
The 17-year-old ran a stunning personal best of 52.77secs in the final and former Olympic bronze medalist Katharine Merry, who was commentating on the race, said: “She is a very exciting talent and her 52.77 is a sign of things to come.
“There is no reason why she cannot follow in the footsteps of myself and Christine Ohuruogo and become an Olympic medalist.

Meanwhile, Bakare’s Luton AC coach Jane Dixon added: “I am so very proud of her. She is a real inspiration to the rest of the squad who are also very proud to be associated with her.”
