A small team of Luton AC athletes travelled to Stanmer Park, Brighton for the Southern AA Cross Country Championships recently.
In-form Rosie Keane returned to action competing against 350 competitors including some of the country’s leading athletes, she ran strongly throughout, only losing several places on a long downhill finish to end up 13th and the first U23 lady.
Christine Lathwell also ran well to finish 45th and Lorraine Daglish completed the team as she was second in her Veterans 55 age group.
Luton return to Chiltern League action next week in an exciting final fixture at Teardrop Lakes, Milton Keynes.
Ian Kimpton has a clear lead in the race for the individual male title with Keane only one point adrift of Lara Bromilow of Milton Keynes.
