Luton boxer Jordan Reynolds will defend his English middleweight title at the Chiltern Hotel in Waller Avenue tonight, after the venue was switched from Luton Rugby Club due to a demand for tickets.
Reynolds, who has been sparring at McGuigan’s Gym, where David Haye trains, in the build-up for his fight, is part of the Contender Series which will feature six English title bouts.
He is up against Jamal Le Doux and speaking exclusively to the News/Gazette, Reynolds said: “Jamal normally fights at light heavyweight and is rated very highly in that division but he’s coming down to my weight to try get my title.
“It is a different kind of feeling fighting in my home town but I’m here for business I can’t let to occasion get to me as I’m here to do a job.
“I sold 350 tickets in a week that why we had to change the venue to a bigger one. I can’t wait to see everyone and thank everyone as the support I’ve had is great.”
Boxing starts this evening at 8pm.
