Dunstable Swimming Club got the third leg of the National Arena League off to a fantastic start with a magnificent fourth place in their West Midlands Three East Gala recently.

Held at the Hucknall Leisure Centre in Nottingham once again, DSC swimmers were on good form as they took on Etwall Eagles, Aylesbury & District, Lichfield, Wantage White Horse SC and Falcon.

DSC did not disappoint, and the whole squad worked hard throughout with the relays in particular tremendously exciting.

The club celebrated some excellent new PBs as swimmers of the gala went to Klaudia Sokowlowska and George Wilks who both made outstanding contributions.

Head coach Tim Hutton said: “It was a great top six finish for DSC in a very competitive National League, shows a great improvement and is testament to the swimmers hard work.

“I absolutely love the National League competitions, as we always find the clubs new superstar and there were some truly outstanding performances across all three rounds.

“The swimmers will now set their sights on the Bedfordshire County Championships which promises to be a great event.”

Results: 1, Wantage White Horse SC, 221pts; 2, Aylesbury & District, 199pts; 3, Etwall Eagles, 188pts; 4, Dunstable, 154pts; 5, Falcon SC, 145pts; 6, Lichfield, 140pts.

DSC look forward to competing in the National Arena Swimming League again in 2016 as they are fourth place overall in the league.
