Williams then went in the 100m freestyle race, where he managed 59.96secs, which was a long course PB, reaching the final as the quickest swimmer.

In another nail-biting event, he managed to finish third and claimed an excellent bronze.

Williams completed his regionals in the 200m freestyle, with a time of 2.12.5 in the heats, to qualify for the final in fourth place.

There, he swam 2.14.12mins to pick up fourth place overall.

DSC’s second swimmer was Sam Mead, whose event was the 13-year-olds’ 50m breaststroke.

On his debut, he managed 39.65secs to gain a new long course PB, finishing in 14th position, missing the final by just 0.7 secs.

Meanwhile DSC’s Harry Constantine and Ellie King were competing in Plymouth, with Harry gaining three gold medals in his events.
