A noble visitor for Gilbert Inglefield school
The reporter of the day told how after the townsfolk had rung a peal of bells at All Saints Church in celebration of the amalgamation of Leighton with Linslade and in honour of Sir Gilbert Inglefield’s knighthood. Ringers then went to the Golden Bell pub for well-earned refreshments. They were joined by Sir Gilbert and Lady Inglefield, JB Saunders (treasurer of Leighton Linslade Council), Miss Cranmer, R C Cranmer (clerk of Leighton Linslade Council) and Councillor H Brantom who was council vice chairman.
