Luton Town & Indians maintained their Saracens Herts League Championship promotion push with a 67-run win over Flitwick on Saturday, writes Harry Wright.
Dhruv Patel was the star as he made an unbeaten 100, while Sachin Wagh added 82 as Indians totalled 253-9 from 50 overs.
Wagh then took 4-43 with the ball and Nitin Parsooth claimed 3-24 as Flitwick were bowled out for just 178.
A poor batting display was the IIs downfall as they could only reach 177-9 against Totteridge Millhillians IIs in Division Three B.
Fayaz Homyoon (29), Masood Mahmood (29) and Badal Naik (22) all made starts, but despite two wickets apiece from Divyesh Patel and Shuaib Dalvi, Totteridge reached 178-6.
The IIIs recorded an 18-run win over Mill Hill Village as they made 195, with Gurpreet Singh (56) and Shyam Katechia (42) in the runs.
Mill Hill were then dismissed for 177 thanks to Yousuf Alim’s 4-26.
The IVs beat Harpenden IVs by four wickets after bowling them out for just 129, thanks to three wickets in four overs from Dharmesh Mistry, while there were two each Mushtaq Dalvi, Daniel Gould and Qasim Mahmood.
Bhoja Karavadra set Luton on their way with 39 and Mistry added an unbeaten 31 to see Luton to 132-6.
The Sunday first team suffered their second Beds County Premier Division defeat in succession, losing by six wickets to Southill Park.
Indians scored 184 as Sachin Wagh hit 76, while Akash Shah made 28 and Ali Hassan 37, but Southill comfortably overtook them with 185-4.
The IIs were hammered by table-topping Ickwell in the Second Division.
Rashid Afridi snr was the pick of Luton’s bowlers with 3-40 as Ickwell scored a mammoth 296, before Luton could only reach 176 all out, falling 120 runs short, as Afridi hit 53 and Zahid Khan added 39.
The IIIs landed an impressive win against Bedford after they smashed 264-7 from 40 overs, Devender Singh top scoring with 93, whilst Harisman Jit Singh hit 66.
Luton bowled Bedford out for 156 to win by 108 runs as Abdul Basit, Samsher Singh, Rashid Afridi jnr and Sukhmeet Singh all took two wickets.
