Stockwood Park went top of Midlands Three East South after a 9-5 win at Northampton BBOBs on Saturday.

All Park’s points were scored from three well struck penalties kicked by centre Steve Pollock.

Two came in the first half to give Stockwood a six point lead before BBOB scored a well-worked try to cut the deficit at half time.

Pollock added another penalty in the second half and although Park created a number of scoring opportunities, their finishing let them down.

This failure to increase their lead made the last few minutes tense, but Park’s defence held firm with Tom Childs, Justin Harkin and Michael Powell prominent as Park hung on for an important victory away from home.

This week Park entertain Northampton Casuals at their London Road ground.
