DUNSTABLIANS were knocked out of the Bombardier East Midlands Cup with a quarter-final 31-6 defeat to Peterborough on Saturday.

The home side took to the field with nothing to lose against a side who ply their trade in National Three League Midlands, and were in front after 15 minutes thanks to Keiron Leech’s penalty.

Dees continued to pressurise but were unable to penetrate the visitors’ defence and Peterborough capitalised to score the opening try of the game to make it 5-3.

Dunstablians kept up their strong forwards game with Scott Oliver at the fore, while a reshuffled backline, including academy players Aaron White, Matt Russell and Michael Leversidge, all making their first team debuts, showcased a lot of promise for the club.
