Old Northamptonians 25 Luton 25

A THRILLING comeback from Luton helped them to a fine set of results in a double-header at Old Northamptonians on Saturday.

The late fightback saw them claim a 25-25 draw in National League Three Midlands action, while extra-time saw them clinch victory in a game that doubled as an East Midlands Cup quarter-final.

In an entertaining and fiercely competitive match, inconsistent refereeing frustrated both sides, but Luton kept their discipline better, losing only one player to the bin compared to the home team’s three.

Coming back from 25-8 down in the second half to earn a deserved 25-25 draw, Luton even missed a last-minute kick that would have won the league encounter.
