Within three minutes, Dees had the lead as a solid catch-and-drive by the pack saw Aaron White drive over the line and Joe Murphy’s successful conversion saw the visitors led 7-0.

Soon afterwards, Stuart Hall drew the defender before finding Kevin Boland, who broke away to feed winger Gavin Denning for the score.

Murphy added the extras and Dees extended their lead to 14-0.

Good handling and support running from both forwards and backs allowed Dunstablians to break away with Coogan finishing well and Murphy’s boot making it 21-0.

Some good individual play from the BBOB captain saw him break Dees’ defensive line to score, with the conversion making it 21-7.

It was Dunstablians who got back themselves back in control of the game though as Scott Warren fed Kev Boland who cleverly chipped ahead.

Jordan Warner rounded the defence and easily outpaced the covering player to score, although Murphy’s conversion drifted just wide.

With half time approaching, Campbell Haig and Scott Warren linked to put Denning away and his skilful pass found Boland to cut a sharp line and score.

The extras were once again missed as Dees led 31-7 at the break.

In the second period, errors started to creep in and James Noel was sin-binned for what the referee
deemed as an illegal use of the boot.

When he returned from 10 minutes out, the visitors went further ahead as Boland found Denning and he touched down out wide.

With Dees now firing, Warren broke and off-loaded for Hall to beat the covering tackler to score, with Murphy’s conversion making it 43-7.

In the final 10 minutes the Bedfordshire side were camped in the opposition half as they went in search of further tries to reach the 50 point mark.

From a BBOB scrum in their 22, the powerful Dees pack drove the scrum backwards and, as the ball was fumbled, Noel dived on it to score.

Murphy again had no problems with the boot, taking Dees to their half century.

There was no let off for BBOB though as Hall finished off another well-worked try as the visitors attacked from deep.

Murphy’s sixth conversion saw the final score 57-7 as Dees climbed to third in the table.

This Saturday Dunstablians entertain Oakham in the third round of the Midlands Intermediate Cup, kick-off 2.15pm.
