SCHOOL SPORTS: County success for Bushmead

Following their success in rugby earlier in this year, Bushmead Primary School have now become county champions in cricket and tennis.

The Year Five and Six boys, took the title at the county tournament at Flitwick CC, while it was the school’s Year Three and Four mixed sides who enjoyed tennis success at the Summer School Games competition in Bedford.

Head of PE Sonny Nathan said: “Becoming county champion is very difficult, but to become county champions across three different sports and different age groups is a magnificent achievement for both the children and the school.”

Cricket team: Zulkifl Malik (C), Jack Dunn, Jude Webb, Jenson Collins, James Logan, Hashim Karim, Ibrahim Awan, Matthew Janes.

Tennis team: Joe Fussell, Mimi Al-Badry, Mya Rose, Kenzie Lee.
