SCHOOLS SPORTS: Panesar the guest of honour
Luton’s Monty Panesar came home to help honour some of the town’s rising sporting stars.

The Essex and England cricket star was one of the special guests at Luton Sixth Form College’s annual sports awards presentation.
He was joined by county team-mate Adeel Malik and Arfan Akram, who works as a cricket co-ordinator at Essex as well as sports development officer for the University of East London.
The event kicked off with Arfan hosting a brief question-and-answer session, with spin bowler Monty telling the students in the audience about how hard work is key if they want to follow in his footsteps and forge a career in sport.
The trio then dished out the honours as the college celebrated a trophy-laden season including being crowned national AoC Indoor 24 cricket champions.
