Sherrock wins a World title

BEDFORDSHIRE darts player Fallon Sherrock was crowned World Darts Federation Youth Cup champion after victory in the girls singles in Ireland at the weekend.

The teenager took on South African Courtney Mulder in the final and eased to a 6-0 victory. She took out 40 to take the first leg, before starting leg two with back-to-back 100s. Mulder came back with a 125 to even the game, but Sherrock again hit double top to win in 24 darts.

Leg three saw Sherrock continue to dominate, finishing a double 18 on her first dart, before moving 4-0 in front, taking leg four in just 19 darts.

In the fifth game, both Mulder and Sherrock had shots at the double with the Beds player hitting the double one to come within one game of the title.

She then hit 140 in her third round and 137 in her fourth to leave 40 which she finished to become champion with an average of 21.02.
