After the break, Waterfield scored again and three more tries came from Jack Brooks and Harry Bishop (2) as Carr slotted over two more conversions.

Man of the match Bishop put in his most accomplished performance, menacing the St Ives defence all day with sniping runs and solid link play.

Chairman Carr said: “There are lots of positives to take into next week, but in a game where we thought we could play our phases, we didn’t really get going.”

Stockwood travel to Stewarts & Lloyds this weekend.

Meanwhile, in the RFU Senior Vase, Stockwood Park will host either Pershore or Yardley & District in their fourth round tie on February 1.
