SWIMMING: Dunstable SC duo Richards and King are record breakers

Dunstable SC commenced their 2016 Club Championships last month with a large number of competitors in action.

Held at the Dunstable Leisure Centre, the first meet included the individual medley and breaststroke race.

As usual in the Club Championships, there are three galas and each event is awarded points that are cumulative, with six points for first and five points for second.

Dunstable’s swimmers broke two club records, with Will Richards surpassing the 14/15 years boys 100m breaststroke time with 1.12.22mins, beating his own previous effort of 1.13.68mins.

Most Popular

While in the girls’ open 400m IM, Ellie King clocked 5.36.24mins to finally beat K Reay’s time of 5.38.01mins which was set back over 20 years ago in 1992.

The second round is to be held on July 9, again at the Dunstable Leisure Centre.
