SWIMMING: Dunstable SC swimmers in record-breaking form

Dunstable SC started its 2015 Club Championships recently with an unprecedented number of competitors.

Held at the Dunstable Leisure Centre, it was a memorable night, with a host of medals and trophies up for grabs.

This first event included the individual medley (IM) races and the breaststroke, while as usual with these competitions, three galas take place, so points awarded are cumulative.

Dunstable recorded some fantastic personal bests on the night, while there were three new club records for Tom Williams in the 400 IM and Ellie King in the 400 IM and 200 IM.

There were also three new Championship records as Amy Shaw swum the Academy Girls 25m breaststroke in 29.77secs.

King managed 5.56.34mins in the Girls Open 400 IM, breaking a record that has stood since 1992, while Tatenda Musendeki (27.37secs) beat the Academy Boys 25m breaststroke best.

The second round will take place on July 11.
