Lawrence Palmer, Brandon Nabarro, Jordan Batson, Ryan Compton, Lauren Simpkins Jo Murray and S9 Disability swimmer Jordan Quinn all qualified and achieved some phenomenal results.

Palmer was untouchable in the breaststroke finals, winning gold in the 50m, 100m and 200m, ranking him second in the country respectively.

Nabarro also won gold in the 200 individual medley (IM) with a PB of 2.04.67mins, while finishing second in the 50m breaststroke, with Batson third.

The first relay team swam excellently to take bronze too.

These swimmers have now added to their Winter National Qualifying times for the National event in December in Sheffield.

So far Palmer has qualified for all the breaststroke races and the 100 IM, Nabarrao will go in the 50m and 100m breaststroke, plus the 100m and 200m IM, with Batson in the 50m breaststroke.

Also at the weekend, 11 Putteridge Senior age group and Masters swimmers represent Bedfordshire at the East Region intercounty event in Newmarket.

There were some great swims but a heavily depleted team this year due to illness saw Beds finish in fourth place.

Putteridge’s other mainstream squads are now putting the final touches to their county qualification needed for January.
