SWIMMING: Team Luton win a host of medals

Team Luton swimming club were in great form in their Autumn Short Course Open Meet held over the weekend at the Inspire Luton Sports Village.

In the 9/10 year old age group, Ben Cornforth (nine) swam PBs in a host of his races, claiming bronze in the 400m freestyle.

Nyles Whyte (nine) claimed bronze in the 50m and 200m freestyle and 200m backstroke, also qualifying for the 2015 Bedfordshire County Championships in the 50m and 200m freestyle.

Susana Opoku-Gyamfi (nine) swam PBs in both her 50m events, while Anthony Blower (10) took bronze in the 200m IM and also swam a PB in the 200m freestyle.

Chiara Rogers (10) delivered PBs in three events, while Ishmail Savage (10) managed a PB in the 50m freestyle and gained entry to the 2015 County Championships.

Jennifer Brooks (10) swam bests in all her five events, while Menna Walmsley (10) had amazing swims to register four PBs, with her 100m freestyle a county qualifying time.

Rhys Davidson (10) took medals in all his events, with gold in the 400m freestyle and 100m backstroke, plus silver in the 50m backstroke and bronze in the 50m breaststroke.

In the 11/12 year old age group, Abbie Barnwell (11) won gold in the 800m freestyle with a regional qualifying time.

She also gained her second regional qualifying time of the gala in the 200m freestyle, winning bronze.
