Team Luton ‘inspired’ to excel at County Championships

Team Luton swimmers picked up over 180 medals at this year’s Bedfordshire County Championships, which were held for the first time at Luton’s Inspire Sports Village.

The 62-strong team amassed 64 golds, 70 silvers and 53 bronzes as over 30 swimmers took medals with Erin McNally, Daniel Flemons, Nathan Swift and Jay Wilson all winning in excess of 10 medals each.

Head coach Pete Woodbridge said: “This was a fantastic championship for the club and great to be held in the Inspire Sports Village for the first time.

“The team had some great swims and deservedly won many medals, set new club and county records and achieved regional and national qualifying times.

“We will now strive to continue to improve and gain further qualifying times for the Regional and National Championships later in the year.”
