Team Luton swimmers aim for excellence as elite athletes
The Advanced Apprenticeship in Sporting Excellence (AASE) is a government-funded initiative that has been designed to help young people aged 16-18 combine education and sport.
It is aimed at athletes who have a realistic potential of achieving excellence in their sport and want to make a career of performing at the highest level, but who also want to continue with their education.

Hide AdThe apprenticeship is the first to allow elite and potentially elite athletes to achieve proper recognition of the skills, knowledge and understanding they are gaining.
Former apprentices on the scheme include Oympians Rebecca Adlington and Tom Daly and Paralympian Jessica-Jane Applegate.
