Team Luton swimmers on call

Seven Team Luton swimmers were selected for Bedfordshire in the National County Team Championships at Ponds Forge recently.

Abby Gee, Beth Currant, Ryan Compton, Jamie Fowler, George Rodger, Emma Jesson and Nathan Swift were part of the county team.

The gala was hosted by Olympic swimmers Ross Davenport and Joanne Jackson and the Team Luton swimmers were in the mix with many Olympic and international swimmers, such as Siobhan-Marie O’Connor, Molly Renshaw and James Guy.

Currant, 16, competed in the 50m and 100m backstroke, Compton, 15, and Jesson, 15, the 100m butterfly, Rodger, 14, the 100m breaststroke and Gee, 16, Fowler, 15, and Swift, 12, in the relay events as Beds finished 18th in Division Two.
