Terrible week for Luton bowlers

A VERY bad week for Luton Town BC started with an 84-64 loss to Shefford in the Pell Shield last Sunday.

That was followed by an eight points to one loss against Maulden in their re-arranged County League match on Tuesday, which meant Barton claimed their first-ever County League title by just one point.

Wednesday then saw Town complete a miserable four days as they lost 91-70 to Ampthill in the Harmsworth Cup.

Victory finally came their way on Thursday as they beat Dunstable 90-63 in the Luton and District League.

This Sunday the County Finals are being held at Linslade Bowls Club.

Town duo Tom Cawdell and Roger Manning face each other in the singles final, Jack Cawdell plays Josh Usher of Maulden in the U25 singles and Paul Murray takes on Tom Summerfield, of Maulden, in the two-wood singles.
