Tom is the Best for Luton AC

The second race in the Luton Summer Series took place around Wardown Park on Sunday.

Tom Best, who was runner-up in the first race, was a comfortable winner in 16.47mins from team-mate Liam McNabola, making a rare appearance on the road.

Another debutante was 18-year-old Revee Walcott-Nolan, who triumphed by 11 seconds from experienced Series leader Claire McMahon.

In the five-year age-groups, the veteran male winners were PJ Hough (Stopsley Striders), Keith Miller, David Green, Jerry Pullinger and Alan Weir.

The Veteran lady winners were Christine Lathwell and Lorraine Daglish (Luton AC), Alison Sugars (Stopsley Striders), Louise Crosby and Georgie Hamilton.

The last race in the Series, the Luton 10km takes place this Sunday starting at 11am from the Brache Estate, Gipsy Lane. Entries will be taken on the day and there is also a race for U13s with medals and a goody bag for all runners.
