Medway & Maidstone won with 253pts, with Thurrock second on 192pts, Harlow third, 182pts, followed by home team Bexley, 173.5pts, Milton Keynes 106pts and Luton on 69.5pts.

Stalwart Geoff Grinsted came sixth in the hammer, third in the discus with 28.85m, second in the B shot with 10.21m, third in the high jump and fifth in the javelin.

Aderian Bright was sixth in the 100m in 12.4secs, runner-up in the long jump with 5.97m, second in the shot with a new personal best of 10.88m and part of the fourth placed 4x100m relay team.

Liam O’Dell put his toe on the line and was sixth in the B 100m in 13.1secs, sixth in the 400m, sixth in the B javelin with 17.84m and sixth in the hammer, while also running a leg in the 4x100m relay.
