Ward claims hat-trick as he targets ‘big boys’

Ambitious James Ward is looking to take on all of Britain’s strongest men in the Open category in June after retaining his U90kg title for a third successive year.

The 27-year-old from Clydesdale Road, Luton, racked up 63 points as he finished miles clear at Britain’s Strongest Man U90kg tournament in Tamworth earlier this month.

He won the truck pull, max deadlift, log lift and medley, came second in the barrel loading and third in the car deadlift hold to easily triumph.
