Whiz-kid Taylor at the double

Hot-shot Steve Howard also in the honours on Supporters Club big night

Premiership transfer target Matthew Taylor was a two-time winner at the Luton Town Supporters Club presentation evening.

Taylor, 20, shared the Players' Player of the Season trophy with top scorer Steve Howard and was an outright winner of the Internet Player of the Season award, chosen by supporters via the club's official website.

Captain Kevin Nicholls was the Junior Hatters Supporters Club's choice, while right-back Kevin Foley was Joe Kinnear's selection as Young Player of the Season.

French winger Jean-Louis Valois' tremendous debut goal against Torquay United was voted Goal of the Season by Supporters Club members, who also chose 24-goal Howard as their Player of the Season.

The evening was held in the Riverside Suite at the Vauxhall Recreation Centre and was a sell-out.

Former Three Counties Radio presenter David Croft, now with Radio Five Live, was the guest speaker.

Taylor was also the club's only representative in this year's PFA Division Three Team of the Year.

Kinnear believed more Kenilworth Road players should have been recognised in the PFA team, based on the votes of fellow professionals.

He said: "There are only two players in the whole Third Division that would get in our side."

The team: Larrieu (Plymouth), Duff (Cheltenham), Wotton (Plymouth), Coughlan (Plymouth), Taylor (Luton), Beagrie (Scunthorpe), Friio (Plymouth), Hodges (Scunthorpe), Williamson (Mansfield), Greenacre (Mansfield), Ellington (Bristol Rovers).
