Woodgate surges to cross country title

LUTON AC, supported by Luton Rotary Club, were in action at the Bedfordshire Cross-Country Championships in Wing last weekend as Daniel Woodgate won the Senior Men’s race, while the U17 women took the team title.

From the outset, Woodgate settled into a comfortable position at the tail of the leading group, before gradually imposing himself.

Going into the last lap, he sped clear of the field to win by a massive two and a half minutes over the 7.5-mile course.
