YOUTH RUGBY: Luton U8s remain unbeaten

Luton U8s travelled to Barnet Elizabethans at the weekend and ended the day unbeaten after playing six matches.

Luton Vipers started with a hard-fought 35-35 draw as tries came from Shea O’Donnell and Tio Bankole, who both grabbed braces, plus Toby Hunt, Lewis Read and Nico Claridge.

Vipers’ second match saw them held to a 45-45 draw, Bankole notching a treble, with skipper O’Donnell, Read and Hunt all scoring doubles.

In their final encounter, Vipers secured a well deserved 50-45 victory, with a fine display of running rugby.

Read managed a hat-trick, there were braces for Bankole and Farrell Bennett, with Hunt, Callum Corley-Doyle and O’Donnell all going over.

Luton Cobras were in irresistible form, winning all three of their matches.

They started with a 50-20 success, which saw Corley-Doyle bag a hat-trick, with Bennett, Leo Lyons and Adina Hunter all going over twice and Ryan Swaine crossing the line.

Cobras’ second match was closer, but Luton triumphed 50-40 win as Corley-Doyle ran in five tries, Lyons grabbed a trio, with Bennett and Hunter also touching down.

The youngsters finished the day with another 30-20 victory, thanks to a first class defensive display that saw man of the match Lyons run in four tries, supported by Claridge and Cian Llewellyn.
