Youth triumphs in Barton derby

The younger Barton Rovers Youth team came out on top as they beat Barton Rovers 2-0 in the U21 Division One of the Bedford & District Sunday League thanks to two second half goals in the space of five minutes.

Jerome Lowe scored the first following a great break involving Jason Horton and Johnny Wilmot, while Aiden Clarke netted the second.

Top defending from the youngster’s back four meant they kept their first clean sheet of the season.

Strikes from Ben Clarke, Jack Keenan, Oli Richardson and Jake Kissiedu helped Dunstable Town to beat Bedford 4-0 in Chiltern Youth League U15 Division One.

AFC Luton won a topsy-turvy encounter 6-4 against Brickhill Wanderers Athletic.

AFC showed great character to twice battle back from behind. Tyrese Lungay hit a hat-trick with some deadly finishing, Mohamed Dyfan scored his first of the season and also set up Jonny Ascott after some good work by Chris Howe.

The goal of the game was scored by Ryan Walker, with a long-range effort, while Luke Gladwell again kept the score down with some important saves and Taheem Randell looked strong in his defensive partnership with Matt Oliver.

Barton Rovers claimed a 3-1 win at AFC Kempston, while in Division Three Barton Rovers Blues lost 3-0 at home to Kempston.

Barton Rovers lost 4-0 at home to AFC Dunstable in U14 Division One, while in Division Two, Barton Rovers Blues continued their unbeaten start to the season with a 4-1 win at Luton Boys Redsox.

First half goals from strikers Rowan Mott and Brandon Care gave Barton the half time advantage and two dead-ball strikes from Nathan Smith sealed the win before Luton Boys scored a consolation.

Man of the match for Rovers was midfield playmaker Charlie Coots.
