Mood swings, hot flushes, night sweats and chocolate binges – if that sounds familiar, it’s time to revel in it at the Grove Theatre in Dunstable.
Menopause the Musical, a comical celebration of women and ‘The Change’, is coming to the venue on Saturday May 21 at 7.30pm.
Featuring an all-star cast, Cheryl Fergison (EastEnders), Linda Nolan (The Nolans) and Rebecca Wheatley (Casualty) bring comedy and entertainment to matters hormonal.
It aims to make clear that this should no longer be a silent passage, but celebrated as an unavoidable stage in every woman’s life, and one that brings freedom from hormonal servitude.
The all-singing, all-dancing comedy of Menopause the Musical is set in a department store, where four women bond unexpectedly at a lingerie sale. They soon let loose about their womanly transformations.
The show is packed full of sharp one-liners about memory loss and hot flushes, accompanied by a soundtrack of comic parodies of pop classics.
Linda Nolan’s wealth of experience in show business has embraced hit records, international television shows and major world concert tours.
Londoner Cheryl is best known for her role as EastEnders’ George Michael super fan Heather Trott who met a grisly end at the hands of Ben Mitchell in 2012.
She has made many stage appearances including a West End role in Man of the Moment at the Gielgud Theatre.
Tickets are £22 or £20 with discounts for concessions, wheelchair users and Friends of the Grove Theatre.
