Anthony started his Pocket Money Treatz business in June 2025. He wanted to create something that would bring a little fun and excitement to children and families in Dunstable.

“I began with my Pick and Mix sweets offering customers the chance to choose their own favourites, along with pre-packed sweet bags and other pocket money treats.”

As the business grew, Anthony has expanded into novelty and gifts including Pick and Mix novelty bags. He enjoys finding new and unusual items that offer something different and affordable for children.

“I chose Dunstable because it is a town with a strong community spirit. I wanted my business to become a part of that community. Starting at the market has enabled me to meet local people, listen to what customers like and so gradually build the business.”

His family has been an important part of the journey. Behind the scenes his children and family have supported him with ideas. They help prepare the stock and give their opinions on new toys and other products. It has become something they can all enjoy and work towards together.

“My long term ambition is to have my own shop in Dunstable town centre. I would love to build this into a successful business which I could pass on to my children. This would give them the opportunity to continue what we started together.”

This is another market business with an ambition to open a shop showing confidence in Dunstable’s future.
