Dunstable shoppers Think Pink to smash fundraising target
Generous Dunstable Asda shoppers have raised a whopping £3,024 for breast cancer charities this Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Customers have been digging deep through checkout collections and an in-store raffle, helping to smash last October’s £1,950 total.
Local MP Alex Mayer paid a visit to the team to learn more, and back a life-saving message to local women: check your chest.
Across the store, Asda Community Champion Michael Watts showed the MP dozens of products that have turned pink this October. From Diet Coke to Yorkshire Tea, Mr Kipling and Kellogg’s Corn Flakes, a rosy share of sales has been going to Asda’s Tickled Pink breast cancer campaign.
Ms Mayer who is the constituency’s first ever female MP and a Breast Cancer Awareness Ambassador, said: “A huge well done to everyone in store and who have helped raise such a fantastic amount.
“Breast cancer can affect anyone, but we know that if it’s detected early, treatment is more successful and there’s a much better chance of recovery. So, if something doesn’t feel right, please get it checked.”
Around 500 people are diagnosed with breast cancer each year in Bedfordshire. Survival has more than doubled in the UK over the last 50 years, and finding cancer earlier can make treatment much more successful.
Asda’s Tickled Pink campaign, which raises money for Breast Cancer Now and CoppaFeel! is celebrating its 30th year while encouraging more people to understand the signs and symptoms of breast cancer.
Breast Cancer Awareness Month runs until 31 October.
