Thanks to funding from the National Heritage Lottery Fund the Wildlife Trust BCN project, Wilder Luton ( Wilder Luton | Wildlife Trust for Beds Cambs & Northants), has been working with local film makers Abi Spendlove and Greta Zabulyte to create a short film showcasing the beautiful chalk hills that surround Luton. This film will be shown publicly at the Luton Library Theatre on Thursday 26th February, 7.30pm onwards.

Also included during this film night is another film Abi and Greta made about the River Lea, which rises in Luton and which the town was originally built around and developed along. This film gives a fascinating insight into how Luton grew and how people's lives interact with the local environment.
Both films feature Dr Trevor Tween who was the LBC ecologist for over 30 years and who sadly passed away in March 2025. Thankfully we have been able to capture some of his expansive knowledge about the chalk hills and chalk river that exists in Luton within these films. If you have any interest in the natural world or heritage of Luton then this is an evening not to be missed.
Tickets cost only £3.50plus booking fee, there will be guest speakers and a bar available. Please visit this page for more details and booking: Luton's Chalk Hills and River Lea - Film Night | Wildlife Trust for Beds Cambs & Northants
