Awards and expo signs up some big names

A RANGE of businesses will be taking part in a big awards ceremony and expo on October 13.

Bespoke minibus maker Warnerbus, from Castle Hill Road, Totternhoe, is up for a top title at the East of England Business Champions.

The final takes place at Tewin Bury Farm Hotel, near Ware, in Herts, which is also the venue for an expo which includes names like Luton Airport.

The awards ceremony will be hosted by Stephen Rhodes, a former presenter on BBC 3CR, who failed to win the Luton South parliamentary seat as an independent candidate at the last election. He now runs his own media business.

The Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) is lead sponsor.

FSB regional chairman Ian Cording said: “As lead sponsor of the East of England Business Champions I am delighted to acknowledge and recognise real business success from around our region and beyond.”

The Herts SME Expo takes place from 10am to 2pm. There will be more than 50 exhibitors already in place, a free speed networking event and four free seminars. Exhibitors include Austin’s Funeral Services, O2 and the FSB.

Organiser Damian Cummins said: “There are such a wide variety of businesses all in one place with exceptional and talented presenters giving relevant business seminars, this could be the best couple of hours you take out of your business this year. Even the coffee is free.”
