Here's how Luton will mark Remembrance Sunday and Armistice Day
Luton residents are being invited to the town hall this November to honour fallen service personnel at two remembrance events.
Luton Council will hold commemorations for Remembrance Sunday on November 8 and Armistice Day on November 11, remembering those who lost their lives in conflict and honouring veterans and serving members of the Armed Forces.

The town has a long military heritage, with generations of residents leaving their homes and families to serve during the two World Wars and in conflicts since.
Councillor Amjid Ali, leader of Luton Council, said: “These events are a chance for our whole town to come together, to honour those who gave their lives, and to show our gratitude to the veterans and serving personnel who continue to give so much to Luton and to the country.
“We warmly invite everyone to join us outside the Town Hall on both Sunday and Wednesday to pay their respects.”
Remembrance Sunday – November 8
The annual Remembrance Sunday parade will set off from Park Street West at 10.40am on Sunday, November 8, before marching towards Luton Town Hall for a service at 11am.
Pastor Lloyd Denny will lead the service, which will include prayers, participation from civic leaders and the laying of wreaths at the War Memorial along with a moment of silence to remember those who gave their lives in service.
Armistice Day – November 11
Civic dignitaries and members of the public are invited to gather shortly before 11am for a service led by Reverend Jairo Nyaongo the Area Dean of Luton.
The Last Post will be sounded before a two-minute silence, followed by the National Anthem to conclude the ceremony.
Two further remembrance services will also take place; one at Marsh Road War Memorial at 11am on Sunday, November 8, and at Stopsley War Memorial at 11am on Wednesday, November 11.
