The list is non-exhaustive, but here we look at 13 stunning villages and landmarks around Luton!
9. Toddington
The picture postcard village of Toddington is situated just northwest of Luton and is a proud settlement in its own right, until recently boasting four pubs as well as a grade 1-listed church. Pictured here is the famed Toddington manor house.
10. Tebworth
Near Toddington lies the small hamlet of Tebworth, a haven for celebrities. Coronation Street actor Colin Edwynn ran the Queen's Head pub in the 1970s and Jack Wild - the artful dodger in 1968's Oliver! - lived in the village until his death in 2006. Pictured here is the village chapel.
11. King's Walden
Just east of Luton beyond the hamlets of Cockernhoe and Tea Green, lies the small hamlet of King's Walden. Now largely forgotten aside from its beautiful grade 1-listed church, the community of 'Waldenei' contained 53 households in the Domesday Book of 1086 - which was very large indeed!
12. Luton Hoo
We complete our list with Luton Hoo, one of the town's most famed landmarks dating back to the 18th century. From here, Winston Churchill and US President Eisenhower made battle plans during the Second World War, while Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip stayed at the venue during their honeymoon in 1947.
