Roads closed around Luton as crews tackle Leagrave blaze

The police confirmed the road closures along the M1 from Bridge End, Oakley Road, Leagrave High Street, Mayne Avenue and Broxley Mead.

Four fire crews have put out the house and outbuilding fire which started at around 10.30am.

Crews are still on scene while they carrying out damping down operations and “are likely to be in attendance for some time”.

There will be an investigation to find out the cause of the blaze. A nearby petrol station was not involved by the fire.

This is a developing story which we will update as more information becomes available.
