It’s a close shave for the hospice

Luton lad Marco Cortese is prepared to bare all for his favourite charity, Keech Hospice Care.

Two years ago he endured an eye-wincing body wax while this time round he’s had his head shaved, along with his eyebrows.

The 22-year-old from Bramingham, who’s just completed a motor sport engineering course, has taken on the charity challenge in memory of his much-loved grandad Mario.

He’s set himself a target of £2,000 and says his fundraising got off to a good start at Strand Salon in Sundon Park where he had his dark locks lopped.

“It’s very cold and I feel like an egg head,” he grinned. “But it’s got people talking and has raised awareness.

“A friend shaved my eyebrows after I had my hair cut and now they’re all stubbly.”

Marco has a skydive planned and is taking part in Tough Mudder, a hardcore 12 mile obstacle course.

He’s also hoping to organise a series of fundraising evenings at Dunstable’s Ivory Lounge.
